Walgreen's Trip #2 this week (week of 4/17/11)

I don't usually get to go out of town to the big "city" of Yankton all that much, but I had something work related there last night, so I stopped by Walgreen's again.  Here's the deals I got this time:

Colgate Total Advanced,  2/$6 = $4 RR
Buy 2 Colgate toothpastes 2/$6
Use 2 $1/1 coupons found in the 4/3 SS
Pay $4
Get back a $4 RR
Final cost 2 toothpastes for FREE!

Goody Ouchless hair accessories $3 = $3 RR
Final cost FREE!

M&M’s 9.9-12.6 oz 2/$4
Use a $1/2 Mars Easter coupon
Plus, use the $1/2 Walgreens coupon found in the April Coupon Booklet
Final cost Only $1.00 per bag!

Scott Naturals paper towels 6 rolls $5
Use the $1.50/1 coupon found here
(Or use the $1/1 coupon found in the 4/17 SS)
Plus, use the $1/1 Walgreens coupon found in the April Coupon Booklet
Final cost $2.50 for 6 rolls – just $0.42 per roll!

(I used a $2.50 off catalina I received that printed from the register there on Sunday instead of the $1 or $1.50 coupons, so that made these .25 per roll.  These are pretty scratchy paper towels, IMO, but they work great for soaking up cooking grease.)

Scotch magic tape Buy 1 at $1.99 get 2 Free with in ad coupon
Use 2 $1/1 Scotch Magic Tape coupons found here
Final cost – 3 packages of Scotch Magic Tape for FREE!

Walgreens alkaline batteries C pk, 9-volt single pack Buy 1 at $3.99 get 1 Free

Walgreens alkaline batteries D 2 pk,  Buy 1 at $3.99 get 1 Free

Buy 2 packages of Duracell Coppertop batteries: AAA, AA 8 pk or Ultra Advanced AAA, AA 6 pk $5.99 each = $3 RR or Buy 1 = $1 RR
Deal Scenario:
Buy 2 Coppertop or Ultra Advanced batteries $5.99 each
Total = $11.98
Use 2 $1.50/1 coupons found in the 4/3 PG
Pay $8.98
Get back a $3 RR
Final cost $2.99 each!

My son has a birthday coming up, and y'know we're going to need all those batteries for those crazy toys!

My receipts showed that I saved $26.23 in coupons, and $27.43 in advertised savings.  I spent a total of $20.04.  I purchased the Goody headband, Duracell batteries, and toothpastes first, receiving a total of $10 in Registered Rewards, and then used those on the rest of my items in my next transaction.

FREE mortgage payments for making your home a billboard

Ok, this was too funny and I have to post it.  I also wanted to give a shout out to those families who just finished their last Financial Peace University class tonight at First Trinity.  Dave Ramsey says to be weird, right?  This one just might meet that definition ;)

Get FREE Mortgage Payments If You Turn Your Home Into A Billboard. Adzookie is looking for houses to paint. In fact, paint is an understatement. Adzookie is looking for homes to turn into billboards. In exchange, they will pay your mortgage every month for as long as your house remains painted.
Here are a few things they are looking for. You must own your home. It cannot be rented or leased. They will paint the entire outside of the house, minus the roof, the windows and any awnings. Painting will take approximately 3 – 5 days. Your house must remain painted for at least three months and may be extended up to a year. If, for any reason, you decide to cancel after three months or if we cancel the agreement with you, we’ll repaint your house back to the original colors.

Thanks, Mojosavings!

My favorite Walgreen's Deals Week of 4/17/11

I don't post Walgreen's deals usually because by the time I get there, all the good deals are wiped off the shelves.  However, the ones I got today I think will possibly still be there if you haven't made it to Walgreen's yet this week because there were still plenty on the shelves of the following items when I was there this afternoon.

PEEPS Chocolate Item singles 1 to 1.5 oz 2/$1 with in ad coupon
Use the $1/2 PEEPS chocolate item (no size restriction) coupon found here (click on “Easter Treats” Tab)
(only available to those who haven’t printed it and only one print allowed per computer)
Final cost – 2 for FREE!

Nivea or Nivea for Men body wash 16.9 oz $3.79

Scotch magic tape Buy 1 at $1.99 get 2 Free with in ad coupon

Final cost – 3 packages of Scotch Magic Tape for FREE!

Walgreens alkaline batteries AAA, AA 4 pk, C or D 2 pk, 9-volt single pack Buy 1 at $3.99 get 1 Free

Buy 2 packages of Duracell Coppertop batteries: AAA, AA 8 pk or Ultra Advanced AAA, AA 6 pk $5.99 each = $3 RR or Buy 1 = $1 RR
Deal Scenario:
Buy 2 Coppertop or Ultra Advanced batteries $5.99 each
Total = $11.98
Use 2 $1.50/1 coupons found in the 4/3 PG
Pay $8.98
Get back a $3 RR
Final cost $2.99 each!

So... my purchase today consisted of 2 bottles of Nivea body wash, 2 packs of Duracell AA batteries - 10 ct, 3 Scotch tapes, 2 packs of WAG C batteries - 2 ct, and 2 packs of WAG D batteries - 2 ct, 8 chocolate peeps, and 2 M&M Easter eggs for a grand total of $19.11.  My receipts say I used $23.73 in coupons, and saved $25.38 in advertised savings.  I did this in 2 transactions: I paid for my Duracell batteries first, and then used the $3 register reward that printed after I paid for the batteries on the rest of my items in another transaction.

I need to give a shout out to our local Yankton Walgreen's, they always have AMAZING customer service, especially for people using coupons.  I had an awful experience at another Walgreen's this weekend with some very poor customer service, so it really makes me appreciate and value the great people that work at our Yankton Walgreen's.
