DIY Home Office Makeover

I've been pretty excited to be in my home office as of late, and I'd like to share how we achieved this look.  We live in an older home and have peaked windows in the corners which don't always add a whole lot of room.  Many of the shelves we looked at would simply not fit our space.  We wanted to use the most of what we had, so that's where my husband's knowledge and skills came in.   He custom made the shelf and desk and the materials were all purchased from Menards.  (We bought the materials during their 11% cash back event to save us even more money).

We purchased 7 black pieces of wood that were 3/4" x 15 1/4" x 6 foot at $15.29 each.  Then we bought 1 3/4" x 23 1/4" x 6 foot piece at $22.99, and 1 3/4" x 15 1/4" x 4 foot piece at $11.19.  We also needed 6 x 1 - 5/8 construction screws which came to $3.99.  Total came to $145.20 plus tax.  After the cube organizer was built, he used one of the boards to create a desk space coming out from the top of the shelf and used another board as a leg on the other end.

The cubes and baskets you see in the picture came from Thirty One and Signature HomeStyles.  I love these products!
